The ONELINE team from Zurich packed their bags and flew to Hamburg to experience the OMR Festival firsthand. Two days of concentrated marketing knowledge, hundreds of exhibitors, and more impressions than any blog post could ever capture. What we brought back to Switzerland was worth every minute of the trip.
OMR, excuse me!?
A short and concise explanation of what the three letters mean:
O = ONLINE
M = MARKETING
R = ROCKSTARS
Says it all, doesn’t it? OMR is an association for marketing makers. And it is precisely this association that organises a top-class 2-day festival once a year.
- 500+ Exhibitors
- 700+ speakers
- 23 masterclass tracks
- 10 stages and more
And of course an immense number of visitors. Right in the middle of the action: the ONELINE team. For us, events like OMR aren’t just inspiring, they directly shape how we approach services like SEO, Google Ads, and AI automation for our Swiss clients.
Junior Marketing Manager in the Spotlight

Caught. What a headline! “Junior marketing manager in the spotlight”. Well, it wasn’t enough for a stage appearance à la Quentin Tarantino (this year :-P). But, to console the Junior Marketing Manager a little, all the spotlights are now on her, even if it’s only in this article. This ONELINE team member, mostly dressed in colourful or patterned clothes and seemingly wearing different glasses every day, was also part of the party at OMR. This ONELINE team member is me: Natascha.
My speciality, however, is not to list the facts and figures of an event. These can be impressive, but the most brilliant thing about such an event report is when you can switch on your head cinema. And that’s what I’m responsible for now.
If this article were an audio book, this is what I would say from the ONELINE X OMR playlist right now: Close your eyes and come on a journey with the Marketeers.
Well, since the playlist was still a work in progress at the time: use your superpower “imagination with open eyes”.
“We wish you a good stay in Hamburg”

Yes, well, it was a bit late when our pilot spoke the sentence “please fasten your seatbelts again, we will be landing in a few minutes” in ultra poor aircraft microphone quality. My eyes had actually fallen shut during the flight. Luckily I managed to gather energy for the first OMR day.
Once we arrived in Hamburg, we were chauffeured to our Airbnbs and fell into bed sometime early in the morning.
beep beep, the alarm clock woke us up again, almost 2 hours later. But there was no sign of tiredness, because we were ready. Standing in the starting blocks. Ready for the OOOOOOOOMMMMMMRRRRRRR!!
A short walk and there we were, on the OMR grounds. As it turned out later, big boss Sami’s instruction “we’ll meet at 9 a.m. sharp in front of the OMR entrance” was a blessing. Because only a few hours later we could observe from above: a seemingly endless queue had formed at the entrance. We were already inside. Aaagh!
The site was divided into different areas, stages, halls. The area had a lot to offer. What we see in practice at events like this: the format of mixing keynote stages with hands-on exhibitor demos works incredibly well. Something Swiss marketing conferences could learn from.
The ONELINE team quickly lost sight of each other, as the various activities and exhibitors magically drew us in. It happened more than once that someone got lost in a conversation with a fellow marketeer, only to surface later wondering “where did my colleagues disappear to?”
My Conclusion of the First Day
Admittedly, my plan was to storm the stage of this article. But there are so many impressions that words hardly do it justice. The huge queue at the entrance, the exhibitors, the stages, the side conversations. The first day delivered more than expected. In the next article, I’ll take you a little deeper into the OMR, and of course capture day two in writing.
Marketeer greetings
Natascha
